Chapter 1 - The Landing

Notes:

-Crash!!!  Leandra lands in the middle of a desert in Africa.  She wakes up dazed and disoriented.

-Leandra couldn't remember anything, who she was or where she was.  She is un-transformed, in her regular clothes.  The sun beats down on her and all she can see is desert all around.

-She gets up and sees smoke from a far off locale.  She heads towards it and makes her way to a sign post.  It's a fork in the road.

-Forward was towards the smoke, the sign says "Clan", left, "Caves", Right, "Cairo".  Leandra goes thinking Cairo to be a city.

-She makes her way to a cliff, the road continued down but Leandra couldn't continue, it was too steep.

-Back at the fork in the road, Leandra decides to follow the smoke to the "Clan".

-There she found huge gates covering some building complex made of metal.  Two guards quickly spotted her and waved to her.  Leandra felt on her toes, cautious.

-They thought she has a shipment, when she told them she didn't, they became angry and told her to leave.  Leandra tried asking questions but they yelled at her to leave.

-Back at the fork in the road, Leandra decided to try the "Caves".  Halfway there though she could hear loud motorcycles coming up from behind her and all around her.  Before she knew it, she was surrounded.

-All of the men on the motorcycles got off of them, and began to harass Leandra for whatever she had.  The "Scorchers" they called themselves.

-Leandra was frightened but didn't act rashly.  She asked them to stop and told them she had nothing, but they insisted she could become a slave.

-Suddenly, a flying motorcycle, much larger than the thugs' flew down into the fray.  The woman controlling the bike snapped it back and forth, knocking out thug after thug.  The woman jumped off the bike and continued to fight them off.

-Leandra joined in and did what she could.

-The woman helping Leandra took off her helmet and used it as a weapon, knocking out the thugs.

-One of the scorchers recognized the woman and yelled out, "Mava!".  Mava stopped her advancing attack to face the thug.  "Ebo", Mava said to the man.  Leandra sensed that they knew each other very well.

-A battle ensued but Mava and Leandra come out victorious over Ebo.  The Scorchers left Mava and Leandra on their bikes.  Leandra thanked Mava, but Mava in return asked for payment.

-Leandra insisted she had nothing.  Mava frisked Leandra and confirmed it.  Mava was pissed and irritated.  She got on her bike and left Leandra in the desert.  Leandra was puzzled but figured she had saved her just to steal something just like the Scorchers.

-Leandra continued to the "Caves".  She made it to the entrance of a cave but the only entrance she saw was blocked and locked by a door.  By this time, Leandra was exhausted and the sun was beginning to set. Leandra found a small covered cave that was somewhat warm.

-She found a small pocket watch in a niche.  She held onto it and fell asleep.  Leandra awoke a few hours later, when she heard a few men dressed in robes entering the cave.

-The before locked door was now open.  The monks didn't see her.  Leandra went in after them and into the cave.  When she entered though, the monks were gone.  Leandra was in a room filled with crystals and gems that glimmered.

-It was a circular room, with a stone column in the middle.  Leandra saw murals on the wall depicting a story of a mysterious mystical woman.  She figured out a pattern in which the stones were to be lighted up that matched the sequence of the murals' story.

-When the gems were lit in the right sequence, a new passageway opened up leading further into the cave.  It was a hallway with different closed doors on both sides.

-Leandra entered a room that seemed like a library.  She found sketches and an illustrated book about the woman in the murals, but she couldn't read the text.

-In a different room, there were beds and it looked like a bedroom.  In another room Leandra found a periscope and maps of the stars.  Leandra felt a slight dejavu.  She looked into the periscope and could see the current night time sky.

-Leandra played around with it to point it at the brightest star she saw.  When she did she heard a click.

-She left the room and tried the last door.  She heard people behind the door convening, she she entered.  It was the men in robes from earlier, she had found them.

-They were startled except for one, he stood up and introduced himself.

-"How did you get in here?" said the Elder monk.  "This place is secret and I do not know you.  Does anyone else here know this woman?"  All of the monks shook their heads.

-The dreamer one stared at Leandra almost intimidated by her beauty.

-Leandra protested and apologized.  She explained how she had amnesia and couldn't remember anything.

-The monks began to believe her.  There were six of them, the Elder, the Dreamer, the Leader, the dopey looking one, the silly one, and the youngest.  The elder's name was Race.

-The monks knew by her strange clothes she was not from here.

-They fed her and explained who they were.  The youngest brought her to the bedroom.

-"We study all of the time.  Read books, make stuff.  Nothing like Cairo." the youngest monk said.

-Leandra was confused, "What is Cairo?"

-The boy was startled by the question.  Race told the boy to leave, he left Leandra to sleep, and said they'd return in the morning.

-Leandra thought to herself for hours: Where am I?  Who am I?  Should I trust these people?  Before she knew it she was asleep.

-In her dreams a character visited her and spoke to her.  This person was all light, no detail visible.  All Leandra could remember her saying was, "remember", then she woke up.  Saying her name "Leandra."

-there was a clamor of people moving about and talking in the other cave rooms.

-She got out of the bed and ran into the silly one.  "Breakfast is in there," he pointed to the last room, the convening room.

-Leandra went into the convening room and joined them for breakfast.  They enjoyed conversation and had laughs.  They joked about who she was.  She told them her name.

-"She's a demon princess!" the dopey looking one shouted.

-"No!  A fairy elf mistress from Gornelf!" the silly one replied.

-Leandra joined them in the laughter. The jokes were new to her and very unfamiliar but she felt comfortable with these men.  The dreamer on kept staring at her.

-"Is there a reason you keep staying at me?" Leandra asked the dreamer looking monk.  He smiled and said,"I'm not staring, I'm just thinking."

-"About me?" Leandra asked.  "Maybe." said the dreamer.  Leandra left it at that, and she just smiled back.

-The elder moved her away to the back door which lead to a staircase.  He wanted her to follow him to the village.

-The elder assumes she must be from Cairo, the largest city near them.  But it's dangerous to get there.

-"I want to remember somewhere, can't you help me?" Leandra asks of the elder monk.  Race informs her of an oracle in Cairo.  The oracle might be able to help her.

-They make it to the city.  So many monks about, male and female, not all in robes.  There were structures of all sorts.  Race took her to the main hall.  Here they allocated her a backpack and a note for the "oracle".

-They also gave her a map of Cairo, pinpointing the oracle's location in the broadcasting district.

-Leandra took a gulp of bravery and inquired as to how to get to Cairo.  They had a boat that could take her down the Nile to the sewer entries of Cairo.  Leandra was confused but assumed she could figure it out.

-She explored the city before trekking.  She met many helpful people.  She learned some great skills too, like apothecary, how to mix items/potions that could help her.
