 Intro - Not all birds are free

Leandra walks through the breezy silk grass covering the majority of her planet, Vega Prime, carrying an eavesflapper tightly in her hands without hurting it.  The eavesflapper flutters its wings in anticipation of what shall become of it, in a bit of anxiety but still trusting Leandra's hands considering she took care of it since it broke its wings so many months ago.  Leandra makes it to the pebbled pathway leading to the pillared gust temple on top of the tallest hill within sight.  

Inside of the temple, Leandra looks around to see that things are still intact, and untouched just as she thought they would be.  The temple, made of stone and decorated with silk, howled lightly as the winds blew through the large openings on both sides of Leandra.  Still holding the bird tightly, Leandra walks towards the end of the rectangular gust temple, and looks up to see the sky above, revealing itself.  Leandra open her hands and lifts them releasing the bird into the air.  The eavesflapper cries in delight as it flaps its wings taking the gust with it as it escapes through the sky window.

"I will cherish the time you gave to me to be with you."  Leandra looks up and watches the birds far above as the eavesflapper joins them and disappears into the dark blue sky.  Leandra thinks to herself if she did the right thing.  She wonders if it will have more of a chance to live without her mending to its ailments.  Though the thought quickly passes.  She realizes that the giving has been completed, and that she couldn't turn back the wheels of time even if she wanted to.  "I trust that you will accomplish everything you came here for. You can take care of yourself beautiful creature."  Leandra says to herself in a subtle soft voice.

 Notes: 

-Leandra's adviser Lugal, comes up behind Leandra in the temple, and tells her that her lunch is ready.  Leandra suspects something but sends him away.

-On her way back to the palace, Leandra sees what appears to be a shooting star and then followed by many others, moving through the atmosphere. Leandra could hardly believe her eyes, because if the shields were up, they probably wouldn't be seeing a shooting star.

-The sky becomes black and full of clouds

-A shooting star falls and lands close by, behind Leandra.  She turns to investigate.  She wonders why the shields weren't up.

-The shooting star takes a shadowy shape, it turns out to be a living being.

-The person talks to Leandra, and Leandra recognizes the voice, and the woman reveals herself  to be Gula, one of Leandra's apprentices hundreds of years ago.  Leandra is shocked.

-A battle ensues but Leandra is significantly more powerful.  Gula flies away towards the city to escape, and Leandra follows her.

-Leandra goes through the hills and makes it to the city gate where she hears screaming.  Inside the gates she finds Gula terrorizing the citizens of Vega Prime.  The guards are nowhere to be found.

-Leandra jumps in to stop Gula, while Gula flies away to the throne.  Leandra makes sure that the people are ok.

-Leandra makes it to the throne, the guards are in a sleeping state, unable to awaken.  The password pad is messed up to open the throne doors; Leandra can't open it.  She scouts the city for an electrical engineer, to figure our the password.

-Leandra gets into the throne room to find Lugal, and Gula, and guards passed out around the room.  

-Gula reveals that someone much more powerful has sent Gula there.  Lugal has been communicating with Gula on a secure channel.

-Leandra is not surprised by the news and that Lugal had brought down the shields.  She pleads Lugal to stop along with Gula, but Lugal says that he's been too tempted by the powers of evil.

-Leandra watches as Lugal transforms into a monster; she reluctantly defeats him.

-Gula talks some more to Leandra, unable to reason and completely lost within herself.  Leandra uses her powers to once again banish Gula, and she disappears into the sky.

-Leandra is distraught.  She remembers when she had first met and taught Gula, Gula was different, from another planet, left on Leandra's doorstep as a baby.  Then Gula discovered her powers and became a warrior.  Later, Gula started to communicate with the other realm, and was soon after banished.

-Leandra awakens from her memories.  She hears a hail signal from the com pad.  An unknown messenger asks for help.  Earth is going to be invaded and the moon.  Leandra has no knowledge of these places only of their existence.  

-Leandra reactivates the shields, awakens her other advisor Bau, and asks her to remain in charge.

-Leandra knows that there's something bigger happening.  Gula must have been involved, and possibly a decoy.  Those other shooting stars were people too, probably headed to Earth.

-Leandra didn't know who has asked for her help but it must be important.  She went back up to her favorite, tallest hill, and took off as a shooting star into the sky, towards the other flying stars and Earth.
